American Dharma

In the 1950s, Jack Kerouac wrote that he dreamed of an "American Dharma" of American Buddhists with their own unique legends, heroes, and home grown sages. Well, Kerouac may not have gotten an dream of an American Buddhist wonderland, but he was right about one thing: the unique nature of "religion" in America. This is a blog about the American Dharma: news, controversy, and cooperation in pluralistic America.

The problem with writing about religion is that you run the risk of offending sincerely religious people, and then they come after you with machetes
